Origins of ICHS

The International Cannabis and Hemp Standards (ICHS) Organization and Fair Market Certified (FMC) were founded by industry veterans and the teams at Big Tree and Tamerlane Trading. Tamerlane Trading is the largest wholesale cannabis and hemp brokerage in the state of Washington and utilizes Big Tree’s material grading services leveraging FMC to ensure fairness in transactions between its clients, who are ICHS’s secondary customers.

The ICHS Board of Directors represents operators throughout the cannabis and hemp supply chains. ICHS and FMC processes and standards are peer reviewed.

Board Members

John Davis

ChairPERSON

Mr. Davis brings over twenty years of applied cannabis and hemp policy, permitting, start-ups, acquisition, structure, banking and investments experience to ICHS. He is a founding member and Executive Director of the Coalition for Cannabis Standards and Ethics, Washington’s oldest and largest industry group. He is a founding member, Board member and Vice Chair of the National Cannabis Industry Association, the United States largest industry group. Mr. Davis has worked on drug policy reform for over 20 years. He was a Board member of Hemp Initiative Projects of Washington State starting in 1993 where he helped to author early marijuana legalization initiatives and run the campaigns.

Jhavid Mohseni

Board Member & TREASURER

Mr. Mohseni is a global entrepreneur with over 22 years in commodities, consumer goods and cannabis through management, sales, marketing, distribution, operations and strategy roles. He has scaled producer/processor licenses, consulted for state, national and international cannabis companies, and currently is leading the standardization of the cannabis and hemp supply chain as the CEO of Aperon Corporation. Mr. Mohseni is passionate about creating and building consistency, reliability and integrity throughout the industry.

Angela Bacca

Angela Bacca has 13+ years of editorial and publicity experience in the cannabis industry and extensive networks in cannabis cultivation, research, science, medicine, advocacy, policy and culture. 

Dominic Corva

Board Member & Secretary

Dr. Corva is the Founder and Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Cannabis and Social Policy, a federal 501(c)(3) research and education nonprofit. He is also co-director of the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research; Research consultant for the California Center for Rural Policy, and Affiliate Faculty in Sociology at Humboldt State University. His research has been published in Political Geography, the International Journal of Drug Policy, and the Lancet. Most recently, he has co-authored more than $6.5 million in cannabis equity grants to rural jurisdictions in California. His current projects include co-editing the forthcoming Routledge Handbook of Interdisciplinary Cannabis Research and co-designing a Cannabis Ecology and Sustainable Development four-year degree program for Humboldt State Universty.
